Can Opener

This is my favorite can opener, easy to use and looks like heavy duty.

This can opener is awesome! This has so much counter balance Weight to it. Works perfect open up cans.

This is a really nice looking can opener, polished, weighty, nicely finished, looks good, feels good.
The turn handle is fairly small, so it takes more effort to turn than most typical manual can openers.
Since the cut is around the outside, it leaves the lid more or less intact, so reclosing a can to have a covered container should you use only part of the contents, is much easier than traditional "cut the sharp wheel of doom out of the lid" style openers.
Depending on what I'm using it on, this is a blessing or a curse:
Opening canned corn or tuna, I want to have that cut out sharp wheel of doom (well, not really, but I do want something as a press to push down into the can) to press the contents and use to strain out the liquid that fills half the can. With this opener, that's a non-option.
With pet food, the sharp wheel of doom is quite the opposite of what I want, I really appreciate the lid being salvaged by this style of opener so that I can put the remainder in the fridge and feed it out at the next meal. For that purpose, this opener is exactly what I want.
The wheel turns very easily backwards, which tends to knock it off of the can. I'd like a more positive engagement to the can rim there, not sure if that's possible with the cut design, but it would make things easier to handle. I'd also like a larger turn knob for easier opening.
I guess I really just want two openers depending on what I'm opening, this fills one of those jobs, which highlights the more effort needed to open a can with this, than my basic (much less pretty, but cheaper) cutter style opener.

Much heavier than I had anticipated--should last for a very long time.

The weight of it is nice, although a little slippery. It's easy to clean and looks great. This can opener opens the cans on the side, which is much cleaner and less sharp edges than the top. That's also the downside, when opening a can on the side, those sides are thicker than the tops on most cans I've tested, so it takes double the effort to open a can. If the turning lever was longer you could use less effort. The side opening also makes it difficult to strain liquids from cans with just the lid. You have to kind of hold the lid slightly to the side, or just use another utensil to drain. A regular can opener, I could just hold the lid and dump upside down in the sink.
