The International Housewares Association named the Gourmet Easy fine and coarse garlic press a finalist for the 2023 Global Innovation Awards (gia) for Excellence in Product Design, in the Kitchen Hand Tools & Cutlery category.
HomePage News picked the story up a fortnight later, and put its finger on the reason the press is built the way it is:
“With the Gourmet Easy Garlic Press Combo, there’s no need to peel garlic before using.”
The trade write-up noted the no-hinge design that makes the press easier to clean, the FDA-certified food-safe 304-grade stainless steel it is made from, and the fact that the whole thing began with a home cook in Australia.
