Serves 8 · 50 mins
Ingredients
- 1/4 Cup unsalted butter
- 1 clove Garlic lightly crushed
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups fresh milk
- 1/2 Cup parmesan cheese grated, more for topping
- 1 kilogram salmon fillet whole, pin bones removed
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt parsley chopped, to garnish, optional
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
- To create the cheese sauce, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Sauté garlic until it becomes fragrant and softened. Mix in flour and cook until any raw taste disappears. Gradually pour in milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens. Turn off the heat and incorporate Parmesan cheese, seasoning with salt to taste. Set the thickened sauce aside.
- On a baking sheet, position the salmon fillet. Drizzle lemon juice over the fish, rubbing it to ensure even coating. Season with salt to your preference. Cover the entire fish with the prepared cheese sauce and sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes or until the salmon reaches your desired level of doneness. Serve alongside steamed rice and buttered vegetables.
