Cheese Slicer

Der Käsehobel macht von der Verarbeitung her einen guten Eindruck und wirkt insgesamt stabil. Allerdings finde ich den aktuellen Preis von rund 30 € schon recht hoch, gerade weil die Handhabung meiner Meinung nach nicht ganz so unkompliziert ist, wie es in der Produktbeschreibung dargestellt wird. Wir haben den Hobel zunächst an einem Stück Käse ausprobiert und am Anfang war es tatsächlich gar nicht so einfach, vernünftige Scheiben hinzubekommen. Entweder wurden die Stücke zu dick, ungleichmäßig oder es ließ sich nicht so sauber hobeln, wie ich es erwartet hatte. Man braucht definitiv erst einmal ein wenig Übung und muss ein Gefühl dafür entwickeln. Nach mehreren Versuchen hat es dann deutlich besser funktioniert. Wir haben es schließlich geschafft, sowohl dünnere als auch etwas dickere Scheiben bzw. Stücke abzuhobeln. Wenn man den richtigen Winkel und etwas Gefühl dafür gefunden hat, klappt es also durchaus. Die Qualität des Hobels scheint bisher gut zu sein und daran habe ich momentan nichts auszusetzen. Für rund 30 € hätte ich ehrlich gesagt erwartet, dass das Ganze von Anfang an etwas einfacher funktioniert. Insgesamt ist der Hobel brauchbar und nach etwas Übung funktioniert er auch gut, aber „easy" würde ich die Anwendung nicht unbedingt nennen. Sollte sich im Langzeittest noch etwas ändern, werde ich meine Bewertung entsprechend anpassen.

I really enjoy using this cheese slicer. Having two interchangeable blades for thick and thin slices is super useful. It’s sharp, durable, high quality, and looks sleek. Cleaning is effortless with a little mild soap and water. Overall, an excellent addition to the kitchen!

I was excited when I got this cheese slicer. I've been cutting cheese with a knife forever, and I thought it would be nice to have something that sliced a little bit more uniformly. When I first pulled it out of the box, I was impressed with the weight and comfortable handle on the slicer. It feel durable. I also figured the shiny finish would clean really easily. I first tried using it on cheddar cheese. I was not impressed. The cheese kind of just squished, and I couldn't get a full slice. It didn't feel super sharp and was difficult to slide through the cheese. I decided that maybe the problem was the type of cheese, so I tried it next on parmesan. Success! It sliced the parmesan much better. You still have to use a bit of force, but it makes nice even slices. Unfortunately, it's usually cheddar cheese that I want nice slices of, so this probably won't get much use.

This cheese slicer makes slicing block cheese quick and even. It has two blades, one for thin slices and one for thick, so you can switch depending on whether you're making sandwiches, a snack plate, or a charcuterie board. The stainless steel blades are sharp and cut cleanly through cheddar, swiss, and other firm cheeses without crumbling. The ergonomic grip is comfortable and gives good control. It's a lot easier and more consistent than using a knife. A handy kitchen tool. Recommended.
