Excellent quality and finish. The handle is a bit thin, but works perfectly.

Let's face it, there are other kitchen mallets out there that will do as good a function as this for much less. This was a splurge. That said, the mallet is solidly made and polished to a high standard of pride. It has a real robust feel and balance in my hand, and rounded edges that can pound meats without cutting into the flesh. I paid a premium for this mallet... with no regrets.
